SKY COASTER

The Sky coaster is a sport and amusement attraction designed by Sky coaster Inc. of Longmont, Colorado. The attraction offers the thrills and excitement of skydiving and hang-gliding to virtually anyone.

From a static position near the ground, the flyers are pulled aloft by a launch cable that is attached to a tower approximately 100 to200 feet from the first support structure. The cable pulls the flyers up to an altitude of 100feet or more to a point near the top of the launch tower. The launch cable is now taut, and the flight is ready to begin. The flyers pull a ripcord attached to are lease mechanism and begin a swing that carries them near the ground, along an arc-shaped trajectory similar to a backyard swing set.

The scale of the flight is so dramatic the flyers accelerate to 60 to 80 miles per hour and receive the sensation of "body flight". The overall feeling is similar to swooping along the ground in a hang glider or skydiving. Flyers who have experienced Sky coaster comment that the thrill is similar to a bungee jump, without the terrifying jump from a high platform. The flyers experience a rush of wind and a very exciting "ground rush" as they swiftly pass over the ground at 60 to 80 miles per hour during the west part of the flight trajectory.

The Swedish cargo Ro-Ro Ferry “ZENOBIA” sank on the 7th of June 1980 on her way to Syria outside Larnaca harbor with all her cargo (104 lories) which can still be seen on board at a depth of 42 meters. The wreck lies at an ideal depth (16-42 meters) and is therefore an absolute must for every experienced diver.

Aqua marine diving instructors have more than 3.000 dives on this wreck, including penetrations.
